I ask Allah — the One True God, the Creator, the Most Able, the Most Powerful, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, and the Most Kind — to grant us all true belief in Him, and with it happiness, contentment, and safety, as well as protection from and prevention of all worries, evils, epidemics and pandemics (like coronavirus diseases) that strike the world.

Introduction
導論
Many centuries ago, even before the advent of what today is called 'Preventive Medicine,' the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) gave us guidance through his actions and sayings (hadiths). These are in line with the Glorious Quran, which Allah describes as containing divine guidance, mercy, light, and healing. This guidance ensures happiness and tranquility, as well as protection from and prevention of worries, evils, epidemics, and pandemics like COVID-19!
遠在今天所謂的“預防醫學”誕生的許多世紀之前，伊斯蘭的先知穆罕默德（願主賜福他並使他平安）就通過他的言行（“聖訓”和聖行）給我們以教誨。這些教誨與安拉稱之為天啟向導、仁愛、光明以及治病良方的尊貴的《古蘭經》是一致的。這些教導確保人類的幸福和安寧，並護佑我們免遭種種憂慮、禍患、地方流行病以及全球傳染病（譬如新冠病毒）之害。
In an article in Newsweek on March 17, 2020*1 Professor Craig Considine asks, "Do you know who else suggested good hygiene and quarantining during a pandemic?”

He answers, "Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, over 1,300 years ago. While he is by no means a `traditional' expert on matters of deadly diseases, Muhammad nonetheless had sound advice to prevent and combat a development like COVID-19.”

Dr. Considine refers to the following sayings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW):

"If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place." (Sahih, Bukhari)

"One who is sick should not be put with one who is healthy." (Sahih, Muslim)

Islam also provides guidelines that are now being widely recommended for minimizing infections. For example, Muslims should keep their nails trimmed and wash their hands thoroughly when making ablution before the five daily prayers, before and after eating, after using the bathroom, and at other times.
伊斯蘭還提供了諸多減少病毒感染的指引，至今仍被廣泛提倡。比如，穆斯林在每天五次禮拜之前、用餐前後、如廁之後以及其他情況下，在大小淨時都必須保持指甲修剪整潔並且全方位洗手。
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, "Cleanliness is half of faith.” (Sahih Muslim)

And he (SAW) said, "Whoever wakes up from his sleep should wash his hands before putting them in the water for ablution, because nobody knows where his hands were during sleep." (Sahih, Boukhari)

Dr. Considine mentioned that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) "would encourage people to always seek medical treatment and medication.”
康斯戴恩博士述及，穆罕默德先知（願主賜福他並使他平安）“總是鼓勵人們堅持不懈地尋求治療和醫藥”。
Some Bedouins once asked if they should make use of medical treatment, and he (SAW) replied, "Make use of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease: old age." (Sahih, Abu Dawood)
一些貝都因游牧人曾經詢問有病是否應該求醫，穆聖（願主賜福他並使他平安）回答：“有病應該速治，因為真主每降下一種疾病，必降下相應的療法。無樂可治者，惟老死病而已。”（《艾布•達吾德聖訓集》）
In brief, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us that anyone who seeks protection, safety and happiness should believe sincerely in the One True God (Allah), the Creator, worshiping Him and praying to Him alone. God (Allah) is the One who has the ultimate control and power. It is He, the Creator, who is entirely able to protect and heal us, according to His Will. The Glorious Quran states: “And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.” [26: 80]
簡言之，先知穆罕默德（願主賜福他並使他平安）教導我們，任何尋求護佑、安全和幸福的人，都應該真誠地堅信獨一的真宰，造物主，崇拜真主並且只向他祈禱。獨一的真宰擁有對萬事萬物最終的掌控和權力。正是他，造物主，以他的意志、憑藉他的大能來保佑我們並且治愈我們的疾病。尊貴的《古蘭經》有云：“我害病時，是他使我痊癒。”【眾詩人章26：80】
Indeed, through this firm belief in Allah, we attain sincere submission, true tawheed (belief in the Oneness of Allah), and full reliance upon Him Who has the complete power and ability to benefit or harm us and to provide us with a good life and sustenance.
的確，正是通過這種對安拉的堅信，我們方能達到虔敬的順服，真實的認主獨一以及萬事托靠真主——大能的掌握全權的主，掌握福禍的主，掌握我們的美好生活和給養的主。
The Glorious Quran teaches us: "Say, We will never be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector. And let the believers rely upon Allah." [9: 51]
尊貴的《古蘭經》教導我們：“你說：‘我們只遭遇到真主所注定的勝敗，他是我們的保佑者。’教信士們只信賴真主吧！”【懺悔章9：51】
In addition to the complete belief in Allah and relying upon him, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) told us to do what it takes to maintain our health and wellbeing.

Prophet Muhammad's Guidance for the Prevention of and Protection from Diseases and Epidemics

The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (SAW) said,
"Whoever recites the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah [Quran 2: 285-286] at night - they [i.e., those two verses] will Suffice him." (Sahih, Bukhari)
安拉的使者穆罕默德（願主賜福他並使他平安）說：“誰在夜間誦讀了《古蘭經》黃牛章的最後兩節經文（2：285-286），真主必使其滿足。”【《布哈里聖訓實錄》】
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) also said, "Recite Surat AI-Ikhlas [Chapter112] and Al-Mu’awwidhatain (Surat AI-Falaq and Surat An-Nas (Chapters 113 and 114) three times at dawn and dusk, and it will suffice you in all matters." (Sahih, Abu Dawood)
先知穆罕默德（願主賜福他並使他平安）還說，“朝夕誦讀忠誠章（《古蘭經》第112章）和两个求護章——曙光章和世人章（《古蘭經》第113章和第114章）各三遍，真主將使你滿足，毫無所求。”【《艾布•達吾德聖訓集》】
The Prophet (SAW) told us in several hadiths about the virtue of reading Ayat Al-Kursi, as in the hadith reported by Abu Hurayrah, "When you go to bed, recite Ayat Al-Kursi (Quran 2: 255), {Allah - there is no god but Him, the Ever-living...} until the end of the verse; then Allah will appoint a guard for you, and no devil will come near you until the morning." (Sahih, Bukhari)
先知（願主賜福他並使他平安）在“聖訓”中多次強調誦讀阿葉提•庫爾西節文（寶座）的好處。據艾布•胡賴勒傳述：“當你上床睡覺時誦讀‘阿葉提•庫爾西’節文（《古蘭經》黃牛章2：255）｛真主，除他外絕無應受崇拜的；他是永生不滅的，是維護萬物的；……｝，真主將派一位天使來保護你，惡魔不會接近你，直到清晨。”【《布哈里聖訓實錄》】
He (SAW) also said, "Whoever says, three times every morning and every evening, 'In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name is protection against every harm in the earth and the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,' - nothing shall harm him." (Sahih, Tirmidhi)
他（願主賜福他並使他平安）還說，“誰早晚念誦三遍：‘奉主尊名，以他的名義求他保佑，免遭地上和天上的每一種禍害，真主是全聰的，是全知的。’他將終日不遭不測之禍。”【《提爾密濟聖訓集》】
The Messenger of Allah did not miss these supplications (du’as) in the evening and the morning: "0 Allah, I ask You for wellbeing in this world and in the hereafter. 0 Allah, I seek Your forgiveness and wellbeing in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. 0 Allah, conceal my faults and preserve me from anguish. 0 Allah, protect me from what is in front of me and behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in Your might from being struck down from beneath me." (Sahih, ibn Hibban)
安拉的使者（願主賜福他並使他平安）朝夕都不離以下祈禱辭（杜阿）：“主啊！我向你祈求今後兩世的吉慶。主啊！祈求你的寬恕和福祉，使我正教昌盛，人財兩旺。主啊！掩護我的缺失，保佑我不受身體上或者精神上的劇痛。主啊！我求庇於你的全權，在前後左右、上下八方保護我，不遭地陷和萬災。”【《伊本•哈班聖訓集》】
In this great supplication, we find complete fortification and protection for us from all sides, with the permission of Allah the Almighty (inshaAllah).
從這段祈禱辭中，借助全能的安拉的惠允，我們將全面強化自身並全方位加強疫情防護。
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to say, "Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, insanity, mutilation, and evil diseases." (Sahih, Abu Dawood)
先知穆罕默德（願主賜福他並使他平安）曾經祈禱，“主啊！求你保佑，使我免遭皮膚病、精神病、肢體損傷以及各種惡疾。”【《艾布•達吾德聖訓集》】
This comprehensive supplication includes seeking refuge in Allah; fortification; and prevention of and protection from worries, evils, diseases, epidemics, pandemics, and mental or psychological disorders in the past, present, and future.
這種綜合性的祈禱，包括祈求安拉的護佑，加強自身防護，免遭過去、現在和將來的各種憂愁、禍患、疾病、地方流行病、全球傳染病，以及心智或者心理方面的病症之害。
And he (SAW) said, "When a man leaves his house saying, `In the name of Allah, I put my trust in Allah, and there is no power or strength except in Allah,' it will be said to him, 'You have been guided, protected, and defended.' The devils go far away from him, and then another devil says, 'How can you deal with a man who has been guided, defended, and protected'?" (Sahih, Abu Dawood)
他（願主賜福他並使他平安）說，“誰出門時念‘奉主尊名，我只托靠安拉，無法無力，惟依真主。’這時一個聲音對他說：‘你已經得到指引，得到保護，得到佑助。’惡魔只能遠離他，然後一個惡魔說：‘對一個已經得到指引、佑助和保護的人，你有什麼辦法呢？’”【《艾布•達吾德聖訓集》】
He (SAW) also said, "Whoever says ten times at the end of every fajr (dawn) prayer, while his feet are still folded, and before speaking, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone without partners; to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him is the praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is powerful over all things.' - ten good deeds shall be written for him, ten evil deeds shall be wiped away from him, he shall be raised up ten degrees, he shall be safe all that day from every disliked thing, and he shall be protected from Satan." (Sahih, Tirmidhi)
他（願主賜福他並使他平安）還說，“誰在晨拜後跪着不說閒話，先念十遍‘萬物非主，惟有真主，獨一無偶，萬有歸他，萬讚歸他，生殺予奪，強大超絕。’真主必給誰寫下十件善功，勾銷十件過錯，提升十個品級，保護他一整天遠離憂患，不犯罪惡，並佑助他免遭惡魔撒旦的禍害。”【《提爾密濟聖訓集》】
The Prophet's wife Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that every night when the Prophet (SAW) went to bed, he used to cup his hands together and blow over them after reciting Surat AI-Ikhlas, Surat AI-Falaq and Surat An-Nas [Chapters 112-114] and then rub his hands over whichever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, his face, and the front of his body. He used to do that three times. (Sahih, Bukhari)
據聖妻阿伊莎（願主喜悅她）傳述，先知（願主賜福他並使他平安）每晚上床休息時，合起兩手掌對着吹念忠誠章、曙光章和世人章（《古蘭經》第112-114章），然後用兩手掌盡量撫摩全身，他先撫頭和臉，以及身體的前面，他這樣做三遍。【《布哈里聖訓實錄》】
In the field of curative medicine, we find compelling instructions and noble advice in the Prophet's guidance, such as his approval when his Companions recited Surat Al-Fatihah for ruqyah **2 and his instructions to use it to ask for healing for those who are sick, injured, or stung.
在醫療領域，先知（願主賜福他並使他平安）的教導中不乏指令和訓誡。比如他同意聖門弟子們用《古蘭經》開端章做“鲁齐亚”精神療法的禱文，他還指示將此法用於治療病痛、受傷或者蟄傷。
In a story of ruqyah for one who had been stung, Abu Saeed said, "So I came and read on him Al-Fatihah {Chapter 1} of the Book, and he woke up and was healed... When we came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) , I told him the news, and he (SAW) said, 'How did you know that it was a ruqyah" (Sahih, Abu Dawood)

**2 Ruqyah is treatment by means of reciting selected Quranic verses, authentic sayings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and supplications — with the certainty that any healing is from Allah alone.

Another example of the Prophet's guidance was narrated by a noble Companion: Uthman ibn Abi AI-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) complained to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) of a pain in his body, so the Messenger of Allah (SAW) told him, "Put your hand on your body where it hurts and say, 'In the name of Allah' three times, and then say seven times, (I seek refuge with Allah and with His power from the evil that afflicts me and that I fear)." (Sahih, Muslim)

Once a man came to Allah's Messenger (SAW) and said, "Allah's Messenger, I was stung by a scorpion during the night." He (SAW) replied, "If you had recited these words in the evening, 'seek refuge in the perfect Word of Allah from the evil of what He created,' it would not have done any harm to you." (Sahih, Muslim)
曾經有一個人來見安拉的使者（願主賜福他並使他平安）說：“安拉的使者啊！夜裡我被蝎子蟄傷了。”他（願主賜福他並使他平安）回答說：“假設你當時念：‘我求真主完美箴言之保佑，免遭來自主所創造物的一切災患！’那麼，真主要時，你絕不受任何傷害。”【《穆斯林聖訓實錄》】
The Prophet's wife Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that he (SAW) used to treat some of his family members by passing his right hand over the place of ailment and saying, "0 Allah, Lord of the people, remove the trouble and heal the patient, for You are the Healer. No healing is of any benefit but Yours - healing that will leave behind no ailment." (Sahih, Bukhari)
據聖妻阿伊莎（願主喜悅她）傳述，穆聖（願主賜福他並使他平安）給家屬治療時，用右手按摩微恙之處並念禱文：“主啊！眾人的主宰，求你除災治病，你是真正的治療者，除你之外再無治療者。你無病不治，無根不除。”【《布哈里聖訓實錄》】
The Prophet's Companion Thabit said, "0 Abu Hamza (Anas), I am sick!" Anas said, "Shall I treat you with the ruqyah of Allah's Messenger (SAW)? Thabit said, "Yes."Anas recited, "0 Allah, Lord of the people, the Remover of trouble! Heal (this patient), for You are the Healer. None brings about healing but You - a healing that will leave behind no ailment." (Sahih, Bukhari)
聖門弟子薩比特說：“艾布•哈姆宰（艾奈斯）啊！我生病了！”艾奈斯說：“我可否用真主的使者（願主賜福他並使他平安）所念的“鲁齐亚”護佑辭為你治療？”薩比特說：“好。”艾奈斯祈禱說：“主啊！眾人的主宰，消除禍患的主，求你治愈（這位病人），你是真正的治療者，除你之外再無治療者。你無病不治，無根不除。”【《布哈里聖訓實錄》】
Conclusion
結論
A true believer in the One True God (Allah), the Creator, firmly believes that Allah is the real protector from all evils and epidemics. Therefore, we have to rely upon Him alone and return to Him by repenting, asking forgiveness (istighfar), supplicating (dua), submitting to Him, and following the guidance brought by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the revelations (the Glorious Quran) sent to him; thus, we will attain happiness, safety, and protection from and prevention of depression, worries, evils, diseases, epidemics, and pandemics, God willing.
真正的信士確信獨一的真宰，造物主，堅信安拉是真正的護佑者，使我們免於禍患和疾病。因此，我們務必一心一意地托靠真主，向真主悔罪，祈求寬恕，向真主禱告，順服真主，謹遵先知穆罕默德（願主賜福他並使他平安）的教導，以及真主通過他啟示的經典（尊貴的《古蘭經》）。惟其如此，真主意欲的話，我們方能獲得幸福、安全以及真主的護佑，免遭抑鬱、憂慮、禍患、疾病、地方流行病乃至全球傳染病之害。
In conclusion, the Quran tells us:
"And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you [0 Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship so that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]." [6: 42]
"And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, 0 believers, so that you might succeed." [24: 31]
"And ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Merciful and Loving." [11: 90]
總之，正如《古蘭經》教導我們：
“在你之前，我确已派遣（许多使者）去教化各民族，（他们否认使者的使命），故我以穷困和患难惩治他们，以便他们谦逊。”（牲畜章6：42）
“信士们啊！你们应全体向真主悔罪，以便你们成功。”（光明章24：31）
“你们应当向你们的主求饶，然后，向他悔过。我的主确是至慈的，确是至爱的。”（呼德章11：90）
